🏳️Checkpoint system

A custom wall-like checkpoint system designed to ensure fair and competitive racing.

Unlike the default GTA cylinder checkpoints, which can be exploited to cut corners, our system forces racers to drive cleanly between two flags. This eliminates shortcuts and ensures every racer follows the same racing line.

How it works

  • Flag props: two props are placed on each side of the road

  • Wall rendering: an invisible wall is drawn between the two flags. Racers must pass through this wall to register the checkpoint.

Flag coloring system

To avoid confusion, checkpoints use a color-coded system:

  • Current checkpoint - highlighted with a primary color so players know exactly where to go.

  • Next checkpoint - shown in a secondary color so racers can anticipate upcoming turns.

  • Configurable - colors can be customized in config.lua to fit your server's theme.

This system makes it easy for players to stay oriented, even at high speeds, and prevents missed checkpoints due to unclear visuals.
